Jason Flannery
1. When did I first begin attending Clifton?
October of 2010, Why did I stay? The ideal that a church would take on radical change to reach its community was something I wanted to be part of.
2. What or who inspires you?
Authenticity and boldness inspire me. People who will speak the truth when they know sometimes people will take offense. People who will do what is right, even if it means others will leave the church over it. People who are willing to follow God even when it's amazingly uncomfortable and they feel like failures but they continue to do it because they know it's what God wants them to do.
3. What's your ideal of a perfect day?
Not sure but I know God and Sarah would be involved somehow.
4. What do you think makes a good leader, someone you would follow?
Autheniticity, boldness, communication skills, a clear idea that he/she are very small and only God is big.
5. What has God been teaching you lately?
I'm really small, my heart is sick, and I sometimes love myself more than Him. The good news is that He is capable of fixing all that.
6. If you could be on any reality TV show, what would it be?
Either: Deadliest Warrior, It Takes A Thief, or Myth Busters.
7. What is your favorite...
Bible verse:
1 Corinthians 16: 13-14 "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love."
Time of day:
When all our work is done, Sarah and I get to lie down together and relax.
Move: BRAVEHEART
Book
(besides the Bible): CrazyLove (Seriously, it's a good book) Comic books- Kingdom Come, Batman: Hush, Blackest Night.
Sport/Team:
Soccer and volleyball
Vacation Place:
Pigeon Forge, TN
Resturaunt:
Five Guys, PF Chang's, Old Mill Resturaunt, Tangierine Cafe
8. Describe your job at Clifton and why you love what you do.
I'm the student Minister and I love it because I get to work with all the students. Kids are so much easier to teach than adults and they tend to have better toys.
9. How long have you been working for Clifton?
11 months
10. What was your first job?
I tended horses at a ranch. Kind of like a cowboy minus the hearding of cattle.
11.
Describe your family (including your pets).
Sarah, my wife, is my best friend. I trust her more than anyone. She's caring, thoughtful, detail oriented, adventerous, hard working, funny, loving and likeable. She helps keep me reigned in but also encourages some of my wierdness. I won't share any of her faults (because who really wants to sleep on a couch) but I can say that she shares her shortcomings with God and regulary studies on how to be more like Christ.
Lilly, our dog, is a mix of Australian Sheppard and cow. She's a very beautiful dog who likes to lay around in the shade as much as possiable. However, when she's in the mood to play, she enjoys running at break neck speed. She's startled by everything (she once snored so loud, she woke herself us and it scared her) She's a bit of a mess.
